Jesus Heals a Demon Possessed Man

Once, Jesus and his disciples sailed to a country called Gadarenes. When he went into the land, he met a man who was possessed by the demons for a long time. The man was not wearing any clothes and he lived in a tomb.

When he saw Jesus, he fell down before him and shouted, “What do you want with me? I beg you not to torture me.”

He said this because Jesus had rebuked the evil spirits to come out of him. The people bound him in chains but he broke away from them; and the demons drove him into the desert.

Jesus asked him, “What is your name?”

The man answered, “My name is Legion because there are many of us that entered into him.”

They begged Jesus not to send them into the abyss. There was a herd of pigs feeding nearby and they implored him to allow them to enter into them. All of a sudden, the pigs stampeded down the lake and were drowned.
