Healing of the Bleeding Woman

Matthew 9:18-22
Luke 8:40-48

There was a man named Jairus who was the ruler of the synagogue. One day, Jairus’ daughter fell ill and was almost at the point of death.

When Jairus heard that Jesus was in town, he came to him and pleaded him to come to his house urgently so that he can heal his daughter. The mob that followed Jesus was so huge that they were just about to crush him.

There was a sick woman who had been suffering from bleeding for twelve years but no doctor or medicine could heal her.

When she saw Jesus, she thought to herself, “If only I could touch the edge of his garment, I will be healed.”

She came up behind him and touched the border of his garment. At that very moment, her bleeding stopped.

Jesus said, “Who touched me? I felt power going out from me.”

When the woman heard Jesus, she trembled and was very frightened. Seeing that she could not hide from him, she spoke up and told everyone that she was the one who touched him and how she was healed instantaneously.

Jesus said to her, “Daughter, cheers: your faith has saved you. Go in peace.”
